政府决定让普腾自力更生

【本刊陈子莹撰述】正当我国第二财长诺莫哈末耶谷(Nor Mohamed Yakcop)宣称普腾已能独立行事,福士伟根在德国的办事处也宣布,该公司与普腾的谈判已终止。

福士伟根在文告中进一步表示,既然与普腾的谈判已结束,该公司会继续在东盟其他国家寻找机会。
同在今天,第二财长诺莫哈末耶谷表示,普腾目前已能自我经营,引进外资策略已经不再是唯一的出路。
诺莫哈末今天在一项汇报会上指出,普腾在这近几个月来的表现,确实扭转了整个劣势,预计今年的亏损将会缩减;在考虑整个大局后,在这个时候引进外资策略伙伴是不适时的。

外国车入口不增税
据《马新社》的报道,诺莫哈末虽然说出普腾有“独立资主”能力的这一番话,不过他也不排除普腾寻找外资伙伴的可能性。他继称,普腾仍然会在适当的时候寻求外资伙伴;不过,这一次却能以更好的条件谈判。

另一方面,政府既然能让普腾“独立”起来,是否会采取入口车增税策略,以保住国产车的销量呢?诺莫哈末以消费者权益为大前提,承诺政府并不会因此而调高外国车的入口税。

诺莫哈末也推翻了早前传出普腾将与福士伟根签署合作条约的消息。

政府让普腾独自操作的决定,取决于普腾近期的强劲销售量,尤其是新推出的销售量。上周,普腾分销商协会也特别发文告公告天下,普腾的销量已取得强劲的回弹,其会员今年上半年每月平均卖出少过10辆车,但今年第三季的销量已增至每月平均35辆,相等于每月总共销出一万一千辆普腾汽车。【点击:普腾车销量起死回生 明年欲重夺主导地位】

此外,《马新社》的报道也特别提到了普腾的消费人满意指数提高了,也就是从去年的677点,提升至今年的713点。

海外市场也有成绩
除了国内的销量,普腾最近在海外市场的表现,也令人侧目。普腾最近才取得出口5000量华嘉(WAJA)到伊朗的合约,并计划在2012年可以在当地装配汽车。

中国市场方面,普腾在这个月出口了三万辆的Gen2,同时也于2012年在中国装配八万辆Gen2,这份合约值马币40亿元。

普腾计划与英国莲花(Lotus)跑车公司,在中国推出两款新车款。

诺莫哈末还作出预测,在新车款的助阵下,普腾有望在本地的汽车市场,占据40%至50%的份额。普腾即将在明年初推出赛佳(saga)的替代版,同时在2009年推出多用途休闲车(MPV)。

他也提到,普腾在上个财政年亏损了5亿9100万元,预计现财政年的亏损将会缩小。

    讲的都是一堆废话!
    如没什么"大改进".PROTON明年会继续亏损,销量还会大减.开越多的分销商,死得越快.最终连要人注资的谈判筹码也会失去,自求多福.

    Shares in ailing carmarker Proton sank 10.5 percent on Wednesday after Malaysia announced it had shelved long-running alliance talks with Germany's Volkswagen.

    At 10:44 am (0244 GMT) Proton shares fell 54 sen to 4.40 ringgit (1.33 dollars), while the overall Kuala Lumpur Composite Index fell 0.4 percent or 5.15 points at 1,366.55.

    On Tuesday Malaysia's state investment arm Khazanah Nasional, which controls Proton, said it had discontinued negotiations with Volkswagen.

    The German car maker said it and the Malaysian government had for the time being decided "to shelve their joint talks" about the alliance.

    The talks began in October 2004 aiming at revitalising Proton, which experts say has suffered from stiff competition, a lack of new models and a reputation for poor quality.

    Malaysia's second finance minister Nor Mohamed Yakcop said Tuesday Proton's fortunes have turned around in recent months.

    Sales of Proton cars have improved, especially the Persona model, which chalked up bookings of about 22,000 units at the end of October after it was launched in mid-August, Nor Mohamed said.

    The announcement caught analysts by suprise who insist Proton needs a foreign partner to remain competitive in the long-term.

    "We were taken aback by this decision as we view the recent improvement in sales as a short-term rebound," said Kelvin Goh, analyst at CIMB Investment Bank.

    Proton's longer term prospects remain murky as it lacks branding and the technological know-how, said Goh, who described the news as a "disappointing development".

    Low Yee Huap, analyst at RHB Research said Proton had not addressed its problems such as falling sales and lack of new models.

    "Although the turnaround is evident on the back of strong Persona car sales, we believe Proton is not out of the woods yet," he said.

    Proton's prospects "remain rather bleak" because the carmaker lacks a new model development programme and is facing intense competition both from domestic and foreign players, he said.

    A Volkswagen spokesman told AFP in Frankfurt that the group was now looking for "new commitments" in Southeast Asia.

    "The company continues to pursue the goal of developing a successful foundation for production and distribution in Southeast Asia for years to come," the firm said.

    真实的情况是普腾已经完了,
    为了稳着不让普腾股价崩溃,
    他们必须发表一些比较好听的话,

    把自生自灭说成自力更生。
    相信之后普腾还会发表一大堆令人"惊讶"的计划,其目的相信是为了是让普腾的股价不要瓦解的这么快。

    有望在本地的汽车市场,占据40%至50%的份额?
    普腾能在5年内不被市场淘汰都很不可思议了。

    普腾被逼去打外国市场,因为普腾在本地市场已经是完了,
    出口5000量华嘉(WAJA)到伊朗,去别的国家是输定了,只好去伊朗这个没市场的地方。

    中国市场方面,普腾在这个月出口了三万辆的Gen2,
    中国市场巨大,但是全世界的主流厂商全部都在集中火力进攻中国市场,
    连在自己家的地盘都输,还要在中国市场打赢Honda,Toyota等品牌,真是天方夜谭。

    中止無人駕駛飛機計劃
    16億落實航空業

    (吉隆坡22日訊)副首相拿督斯里納吉今日證實,政府已決定停止鷹型無人駕駛飛機發展計劃。

    “我們認為,鷹型無人駕駛飛機並沒有太好前景,因此計劃已停止。”  納吉今日出席Spirit Aerosystems(馬)有限公司,飛機裝配廠動土禮后,在記者會發表談話。 在場者包括Spirit Aerosystems(歐洲)公司副主席兼董事經理尼爾。 此外,詢及政府購買多用途直升機投標進展時,納吉說,投標程序已在上月8日截止,但不願透露更多詳情。

    較早前,副首相在動土禮致詞時說,截至今日,大馬已落實24項航空工業發展計劃,這些計劃總投資額高達16億令吉,其中9億6000萬令吉為國內投資,6億8000萬為外國投資。 他指出,目前,約80間本地或外國航空工業相關公司,在我國運作,這些公司去年營業額高達200億令吉。

      “大馬航空工業還是很新及未高度發展的領域,因此,政府視它為有潛質策略工業,並在1996年推出國家航空大藍圖,以使我國換變為區域航空中心。”  副首相指出,Spirit Aerosystems(馬)有限公司在大馬設廠,也將使大馬人民對航空工業的科藝及技術,獲得提升,也有助帶動其他相關行業發展,使航空工業成為推動國家經濟發展的重要領域。  


    納吉:政府不設期限 密切監督普騰復甦
    副首相拿督斯里納吉說,政府不會為普騰復甦計劃設下任何期限,但會密切監督復甦計劃進展,1確保普騰業務重回正軌。 他指出,首相拿督斯里阿都拉早前已針對普騰與福士偉根合作談判破裂,發表談話,政府此舉是為了給普騰管理層機會,以進行復甦計劃。

      “他們(普騰管理層)已有一些計劃,也認為這些計劃可行,因此政府也會給機會他們,落實使普騰復甦計劃。” 他說,普騰管理層深信復甦計劃可取得成功,而普騰也已進軍區域的龐大市場,特別是中國市場。 詢及普騰如何在沒有策略伙伴下,解決債務問題時,納吉說,這將由普騰董事部及管理層決定。

    Big Proton plans for Thailand

    PETALING JAYA: Amid the scepticism whether Proton Holdings Bhd is able to operate on its own, the national carmaker is forging ahead to enter the Thai market.   Managing director Datuk Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir told StarBiz: “Proton is planning to open five branches in Thailand in locations like Bangkok, Haadyai and Chiangrai and we plan to launch a few Proton models such as the GEN.2, Satria and Waja there probably next week. We will introduce the Persona next year.”

       Proton recently made significant inroads into high-growth markets like Iran, China and Indonesia in a bid to complement its turnabout performance on the domestic front.  Syed Zainal believes that Proton has been strengthening its position in the 24 foreign markets where it currently has a presence.

    According to SJ Securities, Proton has secured a deal to export 5,000 units of the Waja to Iran and intends to assemble 40,000 units of the model there annually by 2012.  

    The report also said Proton would begin exporting 30,000 units of GEN.2 to China as part of a deal secured earlier this year with Jinhua Youngman Automobile Manufacturing Co Ltd. The estimated RM4bil contract also involves assembling 80,000 GEN.2 cars and re-badging them as Europe Star in China by 2012.

      “Also two new models are being developed together with Lotus for the China market,” the report said.  Syed Zainal also expects strong volume contribution from the Indonesian market.   SJ Securities noted that the Malaysian government was confident of Proton being able to grow its Indonesian market share as demand for the Wira taxi continued to look promising and coupled with the introduction of new models in the republic.

      On the domestic front, Syed Zainal said Proton had been showing signs of improvement and was capable of improving its performance.   He said Proton's domestic market share for the passenger car segment surged to 38% in September from 24% in May mainly due to robust contribution from the newly launched Persona.  “We hope the Persona would be our best performing model and we are in the midst of planning for a new model early next year which we believe would have the same impact as Persona.

      “Proton's multi-purpose vehicle is also being worked on,” a source said, adding that Persona's performance had renewed interest and confidence in the national carmaker.

       StarBiz in a June report said while Syed Zainal was often regarded as a strong operations man, some opined that he “may not have really stepped into the role of CEO'' and some quarters had even questioned his adeptness at financial management.

      However, sources then had pointed out that things should be looked at from a proper perspective and people in Proton were already working their guts out. The recent improvement at Proton would lay to rest such doubts.

       Yesterday, Syed Zainal said: “We have achieved, to some degree, efficiency and quality besides building scale and coming up with new products.”  Proton closed at RM4.06 yesterday after hitting a seven-year low of RM4.02 on Wednesday.

        Its share price tumbled as the market reacted to the announcement on Tuesday that discussions had ended with Volkswagen AG and General Motors Corp on taking up a strategic stake in Proton.  SJ Securities has re-rated the counter to “neutral” with a target price of RM5.50.

       “Although we believe that in recent months Proton has been actively working to re-establish itself as a reputable automobile player, the failed deal has forced us to change our view on the company,” the report said.
